Sr. Manager (Business Development - Engineering Service)


Engineering services (KPO - knowledge process outsourcing)

Reports to

Chief Operating Officer

Role Purpose

Responsibility for business development of Engineering Services and contracting of new projects and new customers in for knowledge process outsourcing in India and abroad.


Bachelor of Engineering or Technology


Minimum 10 - 15 years hands on experience of marketing engineering services business. Should have travelled to E&& US for business meetings with customers, must have a good network where knows in which areas KPO services are required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead generation

  • Look for New Business/Revenue & bring Key/Recurring Accounts.
  • Develop new territory in North American and Europe markets.
  • Ability to prospect, develop new target customer list, building strong pipeline with qualified leads.
  • Develop sales strategies offering unique value propositions to customers offering Engineering & Manufacturing services.
  • Target Industry - Heavy Machinery & equipment's, Special purpose machinery, Medical Equipment's, Automobile & Transportation.
  • Strong understanding of engagement models for Offshore business and Onsite/staffing opportunities.

Business Development

  • Responsible for building sizeable portfolio, driving revenues from the key account.
  • Sustain, grow and expand existing business.

Client relationship management

  • Managing relationships with client.
  • Will manage a portfolio of key customer accounts with a focus on building and growing these accounts and will be responsible for capture of new business for growth to scale.

Excellent in negotiating pricing, contractual terms and conditions, draft proposals in consensus with delivery/operations/technical teams to win opportunities and close large deals.

Able to manage and/or guide Digital marketing team

Ability to present business plans and sales strategies to senior and executive management.

  • Generate, maintain, and provide timely revenue forecasts, strategic sales plans, sales funnels & status of proposals.

Develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels, ensure timely feedback, overall Customer Satisfaction, clear and consistent communication between the customer and the leadership team.

Ability to Connect and develop relationships at the C level, VP and Director levels.


Exposure to Computer: Ability to understand customer needs and propose solutions.

Communication skills:

  • Should have good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to communicate (Skype) efficiently with a wide array of multinational customer contacts.
  • Fluency and presentation skills.
  • Marketing flair.
  • Result orientation.
  • Ability to relate with customers of different nationalities and with internal verticals.
  • Flexible to travel abroad and have open mind for other cultures.
